Kalpataru Power extends Thursday's gains on new orders

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 63.88 points or 0.33% at 19,387.68.

On BSE, 3,695 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 75,053 shares over the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 94 and a low of Rs 92.90 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 134.30 on 16 February 2012. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 64.15 on 31 August 2012.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 27 December 2012, surging 14.53% compared with the Sensex's 2.56% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, jumping 8.41% as against Sensex's 4.01% gain.

 

The company has equity capital of Rs 30.69 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Shares of Kalpataru Power Transmission (KPTL) have risen 3.96% in two trading sessions from Rs 89.60 on 26 December 2012, after the company during trading hours on Thursday, 27 December 2012, said it has secured new orders aggregating Rs 955 crore. The stock had risen 2.9% to settle at Rs 92.20 on Thursday, 27 December 2012.

KPTL has secured on order worth Rs 405 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) for supply and installation of 800 kilovolts (Kv) HVDC, 238 kilometers (KM) transmission line. The company has secured an order worth Rs 260 crore for two projects in Uganda. It has also secured an order worth over Rs 140 crore in Armenia (CIS country). The company has also secured a transmission line order worth Rs 65 crore in Philippines. Another order worth Rs 85 crore has been awarded by ONGC for electrical system revamp project (under infrastructure division) at Hazira, KPTL said in a statement.

KPTL's net profit fell 22.5% to Rs 26.54 crore on 23% growth in net sales to Rs 705.78 crore in Q2 September 2012 over Q2 September 2011.
