The total area sown under kharif crops as on 09th October, 2015 has reached to 1037.15 lakh hectares as compared to 1020.48 lakh hectare last year at this time.
Rice has been sown/transplanted in 377.23 lakh hectares, pulses in 115.44 lakh hectare coarse, cereals in 185.83 lakh hectares, oilseeds in 185.12 lakh hectares, sugarcane in 48.84 lakh hectares and cotton in 116.90 lakh hectares.
