Large bulk deal triggers upmove in Uttam Galva Steels

Uttam Galva Steels spurted 15.51% to Rs 38.35 at 11:58 IST on BSE after a large bulk deal of 1.07 crore shares was executed at Rs 33.70 per share at the onset of the trading session on BSE.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 369 points or 1.41% at 26,589.95.

On BSE, so far 1.10 crore shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 69,020 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 39.25 and a low of Rs 33.70 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 77.45 on 4 December 2014. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 30.40 on 25 August 2015.

 

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 1 October 2015, gaining 3.27% compared with Sensex's 2.04% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 5.55% as against Sensex's 6.42% fall.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 142.26 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Uttam Galva Steels' net profit declined 80.5% to Rs 1.86 crore on 5.9% growth in net sales to Rs 1708.71 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q1 June 2014.

Uttam Galva Steels is one of the largest manufacturers of cold rolled steel (CR) and galvanized steel (GP) in Western India.
