Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at 10 am today, the last day of the 21-day nationwide lockdown imposed due to the coronavirus.

"I know you have faced difficulties. Some are away from home. Some have faced difficulty in even procuring food. I thank you all for your effort", PM Modi said. Had India not adopted a holistic and integrated approach, country's condition would have been different today, he added.

To stop the spread of Coronavirus in India, we will have to extend the lockdown till 3rd May, Modi said.

PM stated that till 20th April, all districts, localities, states will be closely monitored, as to how strictly they are implementing norms. States which will not let hotspots increase, they could be allowed to let some important activities resume, but with certain conditions.

"While making new guidelines, we have kept in mind the interests of the poor and daily wage workers. Harvesting of Rabi crops is also underway. Central Govt and state Govts are working together to ensure that farmers face minimal problems," Modi said.
