Shares of Lupin rose 1.13% at Rs 1,836.95 at 10:32 IST on BSE after the pharma company replaced integrated power company Tata Power Company as a constituent in the 30-share S&P BSE Sensex index with effect from today, 22 June 2015.
Shares of Lupin hit a high of Rs 1,851.15 and a low of Rs 1,825 so far during the day.
Shares of Tata Power Company rose 0.07% to Rs 72.20. The stock hit high of Rs 72.50 and low of Rs 71.60 so far during the day.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 252 points or 0.92% at 27,568.17
Shares of Lupin had outperformed the market over the past one month till 19 June 2015, rising 5.23% compared with 1.19% fall in the Sensex. The scrip, however, also underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 5.45% as against Sensex's 4.05% fall.
Shares of Tata Power Company had underperformed the market over the past one month till 19 June 2015, falling 4.88% compared with 1.19% fall in the Sensex. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 9.3% as against Sensex's 4.05% fall.
