Shares of gold financing firms viz. Mannapuram Finance and Muthoot Finance rose 0.29% to 1.02% at 11:58 IST on BSE after Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in Union Budget 2015-16 said that government proposes to introduce a gold monetization scheme.
Manapuram Finance (up 0.29% at Rs 34.85) and Muthoot Finance (up 1.02% at Rs 221.80) edged higher.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 45.76 points or 0.16% at 29,265.88.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in his first full-fledged Union Budget 2015-16 today, 28 February 2015 said the government will introduce a sovereign gold bond. Arun Jaitley said that India is the largest consumer of gold in the world and the government proposes to introduce a gold monetization scheme.
