Monsoon Rainfall Records Surplus Of 3% This Season

All India rainfall for this season has recorded a surplus of 3% so far, according to a latest update from the IMD. All India area weighed rainfall stood at 805.3 mm as compared to 783.4 mm in the comparable period last year. The Low Pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh & adjoining south Uttar Pradesh now lies over northeast Madhya Pradesh & adjoining southeast Uttar Pradesh. The associated cycloniccirculation now extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Anupgarh, Alwar, Gwalior, centre of low pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh & adjoining southeast Uttar Pradesh, Daltonganj,Berhampore and thence southeastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal.
