Moser Baer gallops on reports of unit's expansion plan

On BSE, 2.75 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 2.46 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 19.55 and a low of Rs 18.50 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 18.15 on Wednesday, 7 December 2011. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 64.45 on 31 December 2010.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 7 December 2011, sliding 29.67% compared with the Sensex's 3.9% fall. The scrip also undeperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 21.84% as against 1.1% decline in the Sensex.

 

The small-cap optical storage media maker has an equity capital of Rs 168.30 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

As per reports, Moser Baer (India)'s renewable energy vertical Moser Baer Clean Energy is investing $1 billion or Rs 5,100 crore approximately for setting up solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 300 megawatt in the country and abroad in the next nine months. Half of the total projects would be set up in Gujarat, Orissa, West Bengal and Rajasthan in India, while the other half in countries like Germany, Italy and the UK, reports added.

Moser Baer Clean Energy was founded in September 2008 with a strategy of developing solar power projects worldwide. In addition to conventional and solar energy projects, the company also develops hydroelectric and thermal power projects.

Moser Baer (India) reported net loss of Rs 62.06 crore in Q2 September 2011, lower than net loss of Rs 71.69 crore in Q2 September 2010. Net sales rose 5.8% to Rs 517.55 crore in Q2 September 2011 over Q2 September 2010.

Moser Baer (India) manufactures optical storage media like CDs and DVDs and next-generation storage media like Blu-ray Discs and HD DVDs. The company has also diversified into solar energy and home entertainment.
