Mphasis jumped 9.77% to Rs 458.95 at 12:30 IST on BSE after consolidated net profit rose 18.21% to Rs 184.72 crore on 4.07% rise in net sales to Rs 1557.46 crore in Q2 September 2015 over Q1 June 2015.
The company announced results before market hours today, 21 October 2015.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 49.76 points or 0.18% at 27,257.07.
High volumes were witnessed on the counter. On BSE, so far 1.69 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 27,548 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 475, which is also a 52-week high for the stock. The stock hit a low of Rs 424 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 331 on 4 Febraury 2015.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 20 October 2015, rising 3.57% compared with 4.15% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had however outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 0.71% as against Sensex's 3.92% decline.

The mid-cap company has equity capital of Rs 210.14 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
Mphasis said that there was a strong revenue growth in Direct International business at 7.9% in Q2 September 2015 over Q1 June 2015. Net profit margin improved sequentially by 1.4% to 11.9% in Q2 September 2015.
Ganesh Ayyar, Chief Executive Officer, Mphasis said that the company is delivering to its plans of growing Direct International business faster than the market. These results reflect excellent overall performance, he said.
