Muthoot Finance spurted 18.64% to Rs 120.95 and topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. The stock rose on volume of 6.66 lakh shares, higher than average daily volume of 1.19 lakh shares in the past two weeks.

Shares of Sesa Goa were included in the 30-share benchmark S&P BSE Sensex from 27 August 2013. Sesa Goa replaced Sterlite Industries (India) in the Sensex following the scheme of amalgamation between the two Vedanta group firms whereby Sterlite Industries (India) was merged with Sesa Goa. As per the swap ratio, every equity shareholder of Sterlite holding 5 equity shares of the company will be entitled to be issued 3 shares of Sesa Goa. Shares of Sterlite Industries (India) settled at Rs 90.20 on Monday, 26 August 2013, its last trading day.
Aluminium major National Aluminium Company jumped 11.78% to Rs 33.20 and was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock rose on volume of 8.93 lakh shares, higher than average daily volume of 1.41 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Reliance Communications surged 8.23% to Rs 120.30 and was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock rose on bargain hunting after falling 8.25% in four trading days to Rs 111.15 on 28 August 2013 from a recent high of Rs 121.15 on 22 August 2013.

Bharat Forge advanced 7.21% to Rs 251.40 and was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock rose on volume of 1.79 lakh shares, higher than average daily volume of 0.69 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
