National Aluminium Company rose 7.25% to Rs 62.90 at 9:23 IST on BSE after net profit jumped 90.61% to Rs 341.52 crore on 16.28% rise in total income to Rs 2164.13 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q2 September 2013.
The result was announced after market hours on Wednesday, 12 November 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 74.86 points, or 0.27%, to 28,083.76.
On BSE, so far 3.81 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 4.89 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 64.30 and a low of Rs 62.50 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 68.80 on 19 September 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 31.80 on 20 February 2014.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 12 November 2014, falling 1.43% compared with 6.51% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 4.17% as against Sensex's 8.22% rise.
