Turnover jumps
Nifty April 2014 futures were at 6799.20, at a premium of 19.80 points over spot closing of 6779.40. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 222666.73 crore from Rs 188112 crore on Wednesday, 16 April 2014.
TCS April 2014 futures were at 2220, at a discount compared to spot closing of 2223.40.
State Bank of India April 2014 futures were at 2024.55, at a premium over spot closing of 2015.
Adani Enterprises April 2014 futures were at 439.70, at a premium over spot closing of 437.75.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty jumped 104.10 points or 1.56% to settle at 6,779.40, its highest closing level since 10 April 2014.
The April 2014 derivatives contracts expire on 23 April 2014.
