Nifty July 2019 at a premium

SBI, RIL, HDFC most active in futures segment

The Nifty July 2019 futures was at 11,941, a premium of 30.70 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 11,910.30 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 9.65 lakh crore compared with Rs 8.03 lakh crore reported in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index increased by 44.70 points or 0.38% to settle at 11,910.30.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, fell by 2.37% at 14.255.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 25 July 2019 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 15.31 lakh contracts at the 12000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 16.75 lakh contracts was seen at 11500 strike price. Options data suggested a trading range between 11,500 and 12,000 levels for the Nifty.

 

State Bank of India (SBI), Reliance Industries (RIL) and Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

State Bank of India July 2019 futures were at 365.85, compared with spot closing price of 364.25. Reliance Industries July 2019 futures were at 1,286.40, compared with spot closing price of 1,279. Housing Development Finance Corporation July 2019 futures were at 2,272, compared with spot closing price of 2,282.

The July 2019 F&O contracts expire on Thursday, 25 July 2019.
