Nifty July futures trade at discount

India VIX rose 0.29% to 28.82.

The Nifty July 2020 futures were at 10,261.95, a discount of 50.45 points compared with the spot closing at 10,312.40

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was at Rs 9.56 lakh crore compared with Rs 8.52 lakh crore in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 70.6 points or 0.68% to 10,312.40.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, rose 0.29% to 28.82.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 30 July 2020 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 19.83 lakh at the 11,500 strike price. Maximum put OI of 23.20 lakh contracts was seen at 9,000 strike price.

 

Bajaj Finance, Reliance Industries, and HDFC Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Bajaj Finance July 2020 futures were at 2,881.05, compared with spot closing price of 2880. RIL July 2020 futures were at 1,718.8 compared with spot closing price of 1722.70. HDFC Bank July 2020 futures were at 1,063, compared with spot closing price of 1075.50.

The F&O contracts for July will expire on 30 July 2020.
