Turnover spurts
Nifty June 2014 futures were at 7386, at a premium of 26.95 points over spot closing of 7359.05. Nifty May 2014 futures were at 7365.80, near spot closing. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 403885.64 crore from Rs 271909.94 crore on Friday, 23 May 2014.
State Bank of India May 2014 futures were at 2685, at a discount compared to spot closing of 2691.50.
L&T May 2014 futures were at 1549.50, at a premium over spot closing of 1546.05.
Bharat Heavy Electricals May 2014 futures were at 257.40, near spot closing of 256.25.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty lost 8.05 points or 0.11% to settle at 7,359.05, its lowest closing level since 22 May 2014.
The June 2014 derivatives contracts expire on 26 June 2014. The near-month May 2014 derivatives contracts expire on Thursday, 29 May 2014.
