Nifty June futures trade at premium ahead of F&O expiry

NSE VIX jumped 4.25% to 15.365.

The Nifty June 2021 futures were at 15,694, a premium of 7.05 points compared with Nifty's spot closing of 15,686.95.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 52.69 lakh crore compared with Rs 44.30 lakh crore in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index declined 85.80 points or 0.54% to 15,686.95.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, surged 4.25% to 15.3650.

Reliance Industries, State Bank of India and HDFC Bank were the top traded stock futures contracts in F&O segment for June expiry.

 

The June F&O contracts will expire on Thursday, 24 June 2021.
