Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises
The March 2016 futures on the 50-unit Nifty 50 index traded at 7475, a discount of 10.35 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7485.35 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures and options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 2.16 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.06 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty rose 9.75 points or 0.13% to settle at 7,485.35, its highest closing level since 5 February 2016.
State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. State Bank of India March 2016 futures traded at 188.95, at a discount compared to the stock's spot closing of 189.10. ICICI Bank March 2016 futures traded at 220.85, at a discount compared to the stock's spot closing of 221.45. Tata Steel March 2016 futures traded at 286.30, at a discount compared to the stock's spot closing of 289.30.
Axis Bank March 2016 futures traded at 418.50, at a premium compared to the stock's spot closing of 417.30. HDFC Bank March 2016 futures traded at 1026, at a premium compared to the stock's spot closing of 1023.85.
The March 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 31 March 2016.
