Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises
The October 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,709, at a small premium of 9.60 compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,699.40 in the cash market. The Nifty November 2016 futures traded at 8,749.60, a premium of 50.20 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 6.38 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 4 lakh crore registered yesterday, 19 October 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty rose 40.30 points or 0.47% to settle at 8,699.40, its highest closing level since 5 October 2016.
Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, Vedanta, State Bank of India (SBI and Tata Steel were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Yes Bank October 2016 futures traded at 1,312.10, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,310. ICICI Bank October 2016 futures traded at 277.30, at a discount compared with spot closing of 277.50. Vedanta October 2016 futures traded at 207.95, at a discount compared with spot closing of 208.05.
SBI October 2016 futures traded at 260.45, at a premium compared with spot closing of 260.10. Tata Steel October 2016 futures traded at 428.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 428.05.
The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016. The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 24 November 2016.
