Infosys, IndusInd Bank and TCS top traded individual stock futures contract.
The Nifty October 2019 futures were at 11,318, a premium of 16.75 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 11,301.25 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 9.49 lakh crore compared with Rs 25.59 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 66.7 points or 0.59% to settle at 11,301.25. The index closed above its 200-day simple moving average placed at 11,270.88.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, fell 0.74% at 17.10.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 31 October 2019 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 23.88 lakh contracts at the 11,500 strike price. Maximum put OI of 27.12 lakh contracts was seen at 11,000 strike price. Options data suggested a trading range between 11,000 and 11,500 levels for the Nifty in October series.
Infosys, IndusInd Bank and TCS were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Infosys October 2019 futures were at 808.70, compared with spot closing price of 815. IndusInd Bank October 2019 futures were at 1,230.05 compared with spot closing price of 1227. TCS October 2019 futures were at 1,952.00, compared with spot closing price of 1,989.
The October 2019 F&O contracts expire on 31 October 2019.
