Nifty September futures trade at premium to spot price

F&O turnover rises

The September 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,807, at a premium of 29.85 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8,777.15 in the cash market. The Nifty October 2016 futures traded at 8,846.50, a premium of 69.35 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 3.33 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.28 lakh crore registered yesterday, 20 September 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty rose 1.25 points or 0.01% to settle at 8,777.15, its highest closing level since 19 September 2016.

 

Yes Bank, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Hindalco Industries and State Bank of India (SBI) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Yes Bank September 2016 futures traded at 1,222.85, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,220. Tata Steel September 2016 futures traded at 370.30, at a premium over spot closing of 369.40. Tata Motors September 2016 futures traded at 551.50, at a premium over spot closing of 550.55.

Hindalco Industries September 2016 futures traded at 149.35, at a premium compared with spot closing of 149.25. SBI September 2016 futures traded at 251.75, at a premium over spot closing of 251.50.

The September 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 September 2016. The October 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 27 October 2016.
