The Japan share market closed higher for the first time in last four sessions on Thursday, 07 September 2017, as investors chased for bottom fishing on heavily battered stocks, thanks to yen depreciation against dollar and positive lead from Wall Street overnight. Most of TSE sectors were higher, with pulp and paper, machinery and metal product-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play. Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.20%, or 38.55 points, to close at 19,396.52, while the broader Topix index rose 0.39%, or 6.24 points, to 1,598.24. Rising issues far outnumbered falling ones 1,432 to 485 in the TSE's first section, while 107 issues were unchanged. Volume fell to 1.526 billion shares from 1.665 billion shares on Wednesday.
