NOCIL tumbles after poor Q4 earnings

NOCIL lost 4.55% to Rs 17.85 at 11:51 IST on BSE after net profit declined 55.5% to Rs 10.08 crore on 46.5% growth in net sales to Rs 172.34 crore in Q4 March 2014 over Q4 March 2013.

The Q4 result was announced after market hours on Wednesday, 30 April 2014. The stock market was closed on Thursday, 1 May 2014, on account of May Day.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 45.37 points or 0.2% at 22,463.17.

On BSE, so far 1.42 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 1.27 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

 

The stock hit a high of Rs 18.70 and a low of Rs 17.70 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 19.70 on Wednesday, 30 April 2014. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 12 on 4 September 2013.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 30 April 2014, surging 23.68% compared with the Sensex's 0.35% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, jumping 34.63% as against Sensex's 9.36% rise.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 160.79 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

NOCIL's net profit declined 44.4% to Rs 23.62 crore on 22.3% growth in net sales to Rs 593.57 crore in the year ended 31 March 2014 (FY 2014) over the year ended 31 March 2013 (FY 2013).

On consolidated basis, NOCIL's net profit declined 43.4% to Rs 23.85 crore on 22.3% growth in net sales to Rs 593.57 crore in FY 2014 over FY 2013.

NOCIL manufactures a wide range of petrochemicals like, ethylene, propylene, butadiene, benzene and their derivatives, polymers, rubber, chemicals and plastic products.
