Power stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 27.09 points or 1.38% at 1931.3 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 4.92%), Adani Power Ltd (down 4.9%),Adani Transmission Ltd (down 4.29%),JSW Energy Ltd (down 3.31%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 3.23%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Siemens Ltd (down 2.82%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 2.35%), Thermax Ltd (down 2.31%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 2.02%), and ABB India Ltd (down 1.51%).
On the other hand, NHPC Ltd (up 2.15%), and NTPC Ltd (up 0.17%) moved up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 57.06 or 0.14% at 40288.02.
The Nifty 50 index was down 19.3 points or 0.16% at 11894.15.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 108.82 points or 0.81% at 13388.7.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 26.11 points or 0.56% at 4639.67.
On BSE,963 shares were trading in green, 1438 were trading in red and 162 were unchanged.
