Three PSU OMCs rose 0.31% to 0.69% at 10:30 IST on BSE ahead of fuel price revision today, 15 September 2014.
HPCL (up 0.69% at Rs 496.15), Indian Oil Corporation (up 0.65% at Rs 402.90) and BPCL (up 0.31% at Rs 685.35) edged higher.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 193.75 points or 0.72% at 26,867.29.
The fortnightly revision in fuel prices by PSU OMCs is due today, 15 September 2014.
According to reports, diesel prices may be cut for the first time in seven years on sharp decline in international crude oil prices.
Brent for November settlement was down 63 cents at $97.33 a barrel. The contract declined 90 cents to settle at $97.96 a barrel on Friday, 12 September 2014.
Diesel prices were last hiked on 31 August by 50 paise in line with the January 2013 decision to raise rates in small doses every month to bridge the difference between retail selling price and cost. The under-recovery on diesel, had reduced to just 8 paise a litre after the last increase.
