PVR rises after opening new multiplex in UP

PVR rose 1.34% to Rs 1,752.45 at 12:21 IST on BSE after the company annnounced opening a 9-screens multiplex at Gaur City Mall in Uttar Pradesh.

The announcement was made during trading hours today, 12 July 2019.

Meanwhile, S&P BSE Sensex was down 2.28 points or 0.01% at 38,820.83.

On BSE, 16,000 shares were traded in PVR counter, compared to a 2-week average of 14,000 shares. The share price hit an intraday high of Rs 1,762.20 and an intraday low of Rs 1,720.60. It hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,833.80 on 20 May 2019 and a 52-week low of Rs 1,064.55 on 19 July 2018.

 

Shares of PVR rose 8.35% in four trading sessions to its current market price of Rs 1,752.45, from a recent closing low of Rs 1,617.45 on 8 July 2019.

With this launch, PVR now operates the largest multiplex network with of 794 screens at 168 properties in 67 cities.

PVR's consolidated net profit rose 77.2% to Rs 46.42 crore on a 43.2% surge in net sales to Rs 837.63 crore in Q4 March 2019 over Q4 March 2018.

PVR is an Indian film exhibition company.
