Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 1.77%

Nifty Metal index ended down 1.77% at 3214.75 today. The index is down 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, NMDC Ltd slipped 2.55%, Hindalco Industries Ltd dropped 2.26% and Steel Authority of India Ltd fell 2.26%. The Nifty Metal index is down 15.00% over last one year compared to the 1.78% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index is down 1.50% and Nifty Media index gained 1.42% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.69% to close at 10526.75 while the SENSEX is down 0.62% to close at 34981.02 today.
