Shilpi Cable Technologies slumps on profit booking

Shilpi Cable Technologies lost 11.03% to Rs 43.15 at 14:53 IST on BSE, with the stock sliding on profit booking after recent upmove.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 214.47 points, or 0.74%, to 28,630.31

On BSE, so far 1.49 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 63,711 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 49.95 and a low of Rs 42.60 so far during the day. The stock hit a record high of Rs 78.50 on 8 October 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 9.25 on 25 March 2014.

 

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 9 March 2015, rising 22.94% compared with 2.19% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 9.11% as against Sensex's 3.77% rise.

The small-cap stock has an equity capital of Rs 98.63 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Shares of Shilpi Cable Technologies had gained 15.89% in two trading days to settle at Rs 48.50 on 9 March 2015 from a recent low of Rs 41.85 on 4 March 2015.

Meanwhile, Shilpi Cable Technologies after market hours yesterday, 9 March 2015 said that the board of directors of the company at its meeting held yesterday, 9 March 2015, have considered and approved the preferential allotment of 40 lakh convertible warrants at an issue price of Rs 65 each to Shilpi Cables, a promoter group company upon receipt of 25% consideration, in terms of the resolution of shareholders passed through postal ballot the result of which was declared on 4 March 2015.

On a consolidated basis, Shilpi Cable Technologies' net profit rose 26.9% to Rs 40.02 crore on 92.1% rise in total income to Rs 862.90 crore in Q3 December 2014 over Q3 December 2013.

Shilpi Cable Technologies manufactures varieties of cables widely used in telecom, automotive and energy segment.
