Somany Ceramics rose 1.57% to Rs 903.15 at 14:30 IST on BSE after the company said that it has launched a new product series in tiles Glosstra Plus.
The announcement was made during market hours today, 11 December 2017.Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 184.85 points or 0.56% at 33,435.15. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index was up 80.07 points or 0.47% at 17,124.43, underperforming the Sensex.
On the BSE, 298 shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 10,917 shares in the past one quarter. The stock had hit a high of Rs 912.65 and a low of Rs 894.80 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 950 on 30 November 2017 and a 52-week low of Rs 471.05 on 27 December 2016.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 8 December 2017, gaining 6.45% compared with the Sensex's 0.09% rise. The stock had also outperformed the market over the past one quarter, gaining 11.7% as against the Sensex's 4.93% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market over the past one year, jumping 72.43% as against the Sensex's 24.56% rise.
The mid-cap company has equity capital of Rs 8.48 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.
Somany Ceramics said that the company has launched a new product series in tiles 'Glosstra Plus' - India's glossiest wall tiles on 7 December 2017, post commissioning of a state of the art plant at Kassar, Haryana having capacity to produce 4.5 million square meter per annum of 300 mm x 600 mm Glosstra Plus tiles.
Glosstra Plus wall tiles will be available across India at all Somany Franchisee stores and experience centers.
