Trading of Nifty 50 index futures on the Singapore stock exchange indicates that the Nifty could rise 25 points at the opening bell. IT major Infosys will announce its Q2 result today, 11 October 2019.

On the macro front, India's industrial production data for August 2019 will be announced today, 11 October 2019. Also manufacturing production data for August 2019 be announced.

Overseas, most Asian stocks were trading higher on Friday after US President Donald Trump said he would meet with China's top trade negotiator.

US stocks rose on Thursday on hopes that top-level US-China trade talks would yield at least a partial deal, while a jump in Apple's shares also boosted the market.

 

US President Donald Trump said trade talks between US and Chinese officials on Thursday went very well and the two sides had a very, very good negotiation.

Back home,key equity benchmarks declined on Thursday, dragged by selling in banks stocks. The barometer index, the BSE Sensex, fell 297.55 points or 0.78% to 37,880.40. The Nifty 50 index fell 78.75 points or 0.70% to 11,234.55.

The trading activity on that day showed that the foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 263.11 crore yesterday, 10 October 2019, as per provisional data released by the stock exchanges. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 502.67 crore yesterday, 10 October 2019, as per provisional data.
