The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Dharamendra Pradhan informed that the Government has allowed the sale of 5 Kg LPG cylinder with/without Domestic Pressure Regulator (DPR) through OMCs Retail Outlets, which are accessible to all and are open for longer hours. Subsequently, sale of 5 Kg cylinder has been extended to LPG distributorship points and Kirana/General stores to further convenience of the consumers. As on 17 July 2014, the scheme is under operation in the cities of Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Raipur, Chandigarh, Silvasa, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad, Talaja, Ambala, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Panchkula, Jammu, Kochi, Kozhikode, Trivandrum, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttact, Jajpur, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Pedapalli, Ramagudam, Warrangal, Dehradun, Haridwar, Allahabad, Bansi, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Noida, Greater Noida, Lucknow, Mathura, Goa and Meerut.
The LPG sold under the scheme is called Free Trade LPG (FTL). At the time of first sale, cost of equipment (DPR plus cylinder), cost of product at prevailing Non-domestic 5 Kg cylinders price and administrative charges is payable. At the time of subsequent refill, only the cost of product is payable.
