Symphony jumped 6.46% to Rs 439.40 at 14:19 IST on BSE after net profit rose 48.18% to Rs 24.79 crore on 29.46% increase in total income from operations to Rs 119.26 crore in Q2 December 2013 over Q2 December 2012.
The result was announced during trading hours today, 27 January 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 369.96 points, or 1.75%, to 20,763.60.
On BSE, so far 20,000 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 12,154 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 456.45 and a low of Rs 405.95 so far during the day. The stock hit a record high of Rs 480 on 29 November 2013. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 270 on 30 August 2013.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 24 January 2014, falling 1.70% compared with the Sensex's 0.48% rise. The scrip had, however, outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 19.17% as against Sensex's 1.97% rise.
