Taj GVK Hotels drops after reporting net loss in Q2

Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts lost 1.16% to Rs 55.20 at 12:37 IST on BSE after the company reported net loss of Rs 1.90 crore in Q2 September 2013 as against net profit of Rs 1.68 crore in Q2 September 2012.

The Q2 result was announced after market hours on Friday, 25 October 2013.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 23.71 points or 0.11% at 20,707.23.

On BSE, 1,725 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 8,974 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 55.85 and a low of Rs 55 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 53.10 on 19 September 2013. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 78.90 on 21 November 2012.

 

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 25 October 2013, gaining 1.55% compared with the Sensex's 4.17% rise. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 4.2% as against Sensex's 4.44% rise.

The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 12.54 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts' net sales declined 6.4% to Rs 56.96 crore in Q2 September 2013 over Q2 September 2012.

Tata Group owned Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts operates hotel business. It provides accommodation, serves food & beverages to its customers.
