Take Solutions gains after reports of plans to sell supply chain mgmt business

Take Solutions rose 2.94% to Rs 169.65 at 12:35 IST on BSE after reports suggested that the company is planning to sell its supply chain management business to focus more on life sciences sector.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 83.88 points, or 0.31% to 26,783.04.

On BSE, so far 60,981 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 1.08 lakh shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 171.65 and a low of Rs 164.60 so far during the day. The stock hit a record high of Rs 210.50 on 2 December 2015. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 92.30 on 29 June 2015. The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 20 June 2016, gaining 12.41% compared with 6.19% gains in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 14.4% as against Sensex's 7.67% gains.

 

The mid-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 12.24 crore. Face value per share is Re 1.

As per reports, life science business of the company contributes over 75% to revenue. HR Srinivasan, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Take Solutions reportedly quoted by media as saying that out of Rs 1030 crore revenue reported in the year ended 31 March 2016 (FY 2016), nearly Rs 230 crore, about 22% came from supply chain management (SCM) business, which employs around 400 employees and has over 70 clients globally. Margin from SCM is 10-11% while it is nearly 22% from life sciences, he added. On a possible time frame to sell SCM business, Srinivasan reportedly said that it was not a pressing issue now. However, if the company wants to become a specialised company in life sciences, it would be appropriate to find the right company for supply chain business.

Take Solutions' consolidated net profit rose 25.72% to Rs 31.12 crore on 25.94% growth in net sales to Rs 184.70 crore in Q4 March 2016 over Q3 December 2015.
