Telecom stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Telecom index falling 2 points or 0.2% at 995.17 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, GTL Infrastructure Ltd (up 4.26%), Optiemus Infracom Ltd (up 1.13%), and Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 0.71%), were the top losers.
On the other hand, Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd (up 5.35%), Tejas Networks Ltd (up 5.18%), and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 4.84%) moved up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 184.23 or 0.47% at 39236.29.
The Nifty 50 index was up 56.8 points or 0.49% at 11643.15.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 185.94 points or 1.44% at 13100.03.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 67.34 points or 1.52% at 4495.07.
On BSE,1515 shares were trading in green, 815 were trading in red and 177 were unchanged.
