The number of telephone subscribers in India increased from 1,186.63 million at the end of Jun-19 to 1,189.28 million at the end of Jul-19, thereby showing a monthly growth rate of 0.22%. The Urban subscription increased from 675.58 million at the end of Jun-19 to 678.02 million at the end of Jul-19 and the rural subscription also increased from 511.05 million to 511.25 million during the same period. The monthly growth rates of urban and rural subscription were 0.36% and 0.04% respectively during the month of Jul-19.
The overall Tele-density in India increased from 90.11at the end ofJun-19to 90.23at the end of Jul-19.The UrbanTele-density increased from 160.78at the end of Jun-19 to 161.12at the end of Jul-19. However, Rural Tele-density slightly declined from 56.99 at the end of Jun-19to 56.98 at the end of Jul-19.
Total wireless subscribers (GSM, CDMA & LTE) increased from 1,165.46 million at the end ofJun-19 to 1,168.31 million at the end of Jul-19, thereby registering a monthly growth rate of0.24%. The Wireless Tele-density in India increased from 88.50 at the end ofJun-19 to 88.64 at the end of Jul-19.The Urban Wireless Tele-density increased from156.42 at the end of Jun-19 to 156.80at the end of Jul-19. However, Rural Wireless Tele-density slightly declined from 56.68to 56.67 during the same period.
As per the reports received from 324 operators in the month of July, 2019, the number of broadband subscribers increased from 594.59 million at the end of Jun-19 to 604.12million at the end of Jul-19with a monthly growth rate of 1.60%.
