Tiles makers move higher on reports Govt imposes anti-dumping duty on vitrified tiles

Shares of five companies engaged in the manufacturing of tiles rose 0.24% to 9.93% at 14:20 IST on BSE on media reports that the government today, 30 March 2016, imposed anti-dumping duty on all vitrified tiles from China for six months.

Nitco (up 9.93% at Rs 40.95), Asian Granito (up 6.35% at Rs 150.80), Orient Bell (up 4.04% at Rs 139), Somany Ceramics (up 0.97% at Rs 386) and HSIL (up 0.24% at Rs 273) edged higher. Kajaria Ceramics (down 0.85% at Rs 936.15) and Cera Sanitaryware (down 0.56% at Rs 1,822) edged lower.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 375.20 points or 1.51% at 25,275.66.

 

Reports suggested that the government has imposed anti-dumping duty of $1.37 per square meter on all vitrified tiles from China. Industry had expected higher anti-dumping duty at $3 per square metre, reports added.
