India VIX slips to 15.79
The Nifty August 2019 futures was at 11,119.05, a premium of 9.4 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 11,109.65 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 8.68 lakh crore compared with Rs 27.72 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 77.20 points or 0.70% to settle at 11,109.65.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, fell 1.83% at 15.7975.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 29 August 2019 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 26.53 lakh contracts at the 11,500 strike price. Maximum put OI of 35.77 lakh contracts was seen at 11,000 strike price. Options data suggested a trading range between 11,000 and 11,500 levels for the Nifty.
Reliance Industries (RIL), State Bank of India (SBI) and Indiabulls Housing Finance were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.
Reliance Industries (RIL) August 2019 futures were at 1,165.90, compared with spot closing price of 1,161. State Bank of India (SBI) August 2019 futures were at 292.30, compared with spot closing price of 291.85. Indiabulls Housing Finance August 2019 futures were at 492 compared with spot closing price of 510.
The August 2019 F&O contracts expire on 29 August 2019.
