Nifty January 2016 futures trade at premium to spot price

The January 2016 futures on the 50-unit Nifty 50 index traded at 7793.70, at a premium of 9.05 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7784.65 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures and options (F&O) segment declined to Rs 1.85 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.37 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty fell 6.65 points or 0.09% to settle at 7,784.65, its lowest closing level since 18 December 2015.

Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Steel, Reliance Capital, State Bank of India and JSW Steel were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE.

 

Reliance Infrastructure January 2016 futures traded at 612.10, at a premium over spot closing of 611.50.

Tata Steel January 2016 futures traded at 273.50, at a premium over spot closing of 272.70.

Reliance Capital January 2016 futures traded at 461, at a premium over spot closing of 457.90.

State Bank of India January 2016 futures traded at 218.60, at a premium over spot closing of 217.75.

JSW Steel January 2016 futures traded at 1,087.35, at a premium over spot closing of 1080.90.

The January 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 January 2016.
