Turnover on NSE's F&O segment jumps

Nifty February futures trade at discount

The Nifty February 2018 futures traded at 10572.10, at a discount of 4.75 points over spot closing of 10576.85 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 14.26 lakh crore, compared with the turnover of Rs 7.26 lakh crore registered in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 100.15 points or 0.96% to settle at 10,576.85, its highest closing level since 5 February 2018.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, State Bank of India, Reliance Industries, Jindal Steel & Power and Tata Steel were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries February 2018 futures traded at 585, at a premium compared with spot closing of 584.90. State Bank of India February 2018 futures traded at 301.85, at a discount compared with spot closing of 302.25.

 

Reliance Industries February 2018 futures traded at 905.40, at a discount compared with spot closing of 906.20. Jindal Steel & Power February 2018 futures traded at 267.95, at a premium compared with spot closing of 267. Tata Steel February 2018 futures traded at 675.05, at a premium compared with spot closing of 673.

The February 2018 F&O contracts expire on Thursday, 22 February 2018.
