Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises

Nifty May 2017 futures at premium

The May 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9519, a premium of 6.75 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 9512.25 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 4.87 lakh crore from Rs 3.18 lakh crore registered during previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 66.85 points or 0.71% to settle at 9,512.25, its record closing high.

Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Tata Steel, DLF and Vedanta were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Punjab National Bank May 2017 futures traded at 173.80, at a premium over spot closing of 173.20. State Bank of India May 2017 futures traded at 308, at a discount over spot closing of 308.05. Tata Steel May 2017 futures traded at 458.30, at a premium over spot closing of 456.70.

 

DLF May 2017 futures traded at 211.90, at a discount over spot closing of 212. Vedanta May 2017 futures traded at 238.95, at a premium over spot closing of 237.75.

The May 2017 F&O contracts will expire on 25 May 2017.
