Nifty June 2017 futures trade at premium to spot closing

The June 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9395, a small premium of 8.85 points over Nifty's spot closing of 9,386.15. The May 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 9388.45, near Nifty's spot closing.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 7.96 lakh crore from Rs 4.74 lakh crore registered during previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 52.10 points or 0.55% to settle at 9,386.15, its lowest closing level since 9 May 2017.

 

State Bank of India (SBI), Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and DLF were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. SBI May 2017 futures traded at 288.80, at a small discount compared with spot closing of 288.85.

Tata Steel May 2017 futures traded at 489.50, at a small discount compared with spot closing of 489.65. ICICI Bank May 2017 futures traded at 305.55, at a discount compared with the spot closing of 306.10.

HDFC Bank May 2017 futures traded at 1569.45, at a premium over spot closing of 1569. DLF May 2017 futures traded at 196.80, near spot closing of 196.50.

The May 2017 F&O contracts will expire on Thursday, 25 May 2017. The June 2017 F&O contracts will expire on 29 June 2017.
