TVS Motor Company jumped 5.71% to Rs 38.90 at 13:40 IST on BSE after the company said its total sales rose 16% to 1.97 lakh units in September 2013 over September 2012.
The company announced the monthly sales data during trading hours today, 1 October 2013.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 93.56 points, or 0.48%, to 19,473.33.
On BSE, 25.01 lakh shares were traded in the counter compared with average volume of 1 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 40.30 and a low of Rs 37.10 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 50.25 on 11 January 2013. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 28.10 on 31 July 2013.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 30 September 2013, rising 20.66% compared with the Sensex's 4.08% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, gaining 12.20% as against Sensex's 0.08% decline.

Domestic two-wheeler sales rose 13% to 1.68 lakh units in September 2013 over September 2012. Motorcycles sales jumped 30% to 83,043 units in September 2013 over September 2012. Scooters sales rose 8% to 43,201 units in September 2013 over September 2012. The company's three-wheeler sales jumped 56% to 7,800 units in September 2013 over September 2012.
The company's total exports jumped 47% to 27,577 units in September 2013 over September 2012. Exports of two wheelers jumped 32% to 21,011 units in September 2013 over September 2012.
