Umang Dairies spurts after decent Q3 earnings

Umang Dairies rose 7.93% to Rs 73.50 at 13:47 IST on BSE after net profit rose 7.31% to Rs 2.79 crore on 46.26% decline in net sales to Rs 33.41 crore in Q3 December 2015 over Q3 December 2014.

The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 27 January 2016.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 42.97 points, or 0.18%, to 24,535.36.

On BSE, so far 78,000 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 35,106 shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 77.70 and a low of Rs 71.25 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 91.70 on 23 October 2015. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 46.10 on 25 August 2015. The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 27 January 2016, sliding 13.52% compared with 5.21% decline in the Sensex. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 21.27% as against Sensex's 10.13% fall.

 

The small-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 11 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.

Umang Dairies is a dairy product manufacturing company. It produces and markets skimmed milk powder, butter, pure ghee, varieties of dairy whiteners and premixes compatible with tea & coffee vending machines and liquid milk in poly pouches for retail and institutional customers.
