United Breweries spurts on bargain hunting

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 79.48 points or 0.42% at 19,063.52.

On BSE, 2.25 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 1.04 lakh shares over the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 663 and a low of Rs 593.40 so far during the day. The stock had hit record high of Rs 1,023.30 on 5 December 2012. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 473 on 23 July 2012.

The stock underperformed the market over the past one month till 11 June 2013, declining 18.11% compared with the Sensex's 4.87% slide. The scrip also underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 11.45% as against Sensex's 2.56% slide.

 

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 27.29 crore. Face value per share is Re 1.

Shares of United Breweries had dropped 17.12% in five trading sessions to Rs 618.20 on 11 June 2013 from a recent high of Rs 745.90 on 5 June 2013.

United Breweries' net profit fell 46.6% to Rs 5.85 crore on 3.6% rise in net sales to Rs 931.92 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q4 March 2012.

United Breweries is the flagship company of UB Group. With its flagship brand Kingfisher, the company is market leader in beers in India.
