Apollo Hospitals Enterprise notched up volume of 3.51 lakh shares by 13:26 IST on BSE, a 20.65-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 17,000 shares. The stock rose 0.12% to Rs 827.
Fresenius Kabi Oncology saw volume of 8.88 lakh shares, a 18.89-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 47,000 shares. The stock surged 7.04% to Rs 136 after the company said it has received a letter from its foreign parent notifying its intention to delist the company's shares from the bourses.
Fresenius Kabi Oncology during trading hours today, 17 April 2013, said it has received a letter dated 16 April 2013 from its foreign parent -- Fresenius Kabi (Singapore) Pte (FKSL) -- notifying the company of its intention to make a voluntary delisting offer to the public shareholders of the company to acquire the entire public shareholding of the company of 3.06 crore equity shares of Re 1 each, representing 19% of the share capital of the company and delist the equity shares of the company from the stock exchanges on which the equity shares of the company are presently listed, i.e., BSE and the National Stock Exchange of India in accordance with the SEBI (Delisting of Equity Shares) Regulations, 2009 (Delisting Offer).
Hindustan Zinc clocked volume of 13.71 lakh shares, a 17.38-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 79,000 shares. The stock rose 1.62% to Rs 109.65.
Amara Raja Batteries saw volume of 4.29 lakh shares, a 16.81-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 26,000 shares. The stock rose 0.43% to Rs 244.70 after 0.23% equity changed hands in a bulk deal on BSE today, 17 April 2013. A bulk deal of 3.94 lakh shares was executed on Amara Raja Batteries counter at Rs 245.25 per share at 09:56 IST on BSE today, 17 April 2013.
Hero MotoCorp notched up volume of 3.38 lakh shares, a 12.57-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 27,000 shares. The stock rose 0.32% to Rs 1,493.
