CMC clocked volume of 1.14 lakh shares by 13:36 IST on BSE, a 243.19-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 468 shares. The stock rose 1.45% to Rs 1,280.
Binny Mills notched up volume of 2.74 lakh shares, a 3.18-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 86,000 shares. The stock lost 2% to Rs 770.20, which is also its record low for the counter.
Hexaware Technologies saw volume of 10.22 lakh shares, a 2.88-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3.54 lakh shares. The stock jumped 6.25% to Rs 128.30 after the company said that Baring Private Equity Asia on Friday agreed to buy a controlling stake in the company for about $420 million.
IDFC clocked volume of 24 lakh shares, a 2.65-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 9.07 lakh shares. The stock tumbled 7.54% to Rs 95.70 after the company said that the ceiling limit in respect of overall foreign shareholding in the company's shares has been reduced to 54% of the company's equity from 74% earlier.
Sesa Goa saw volume of 24.17 lakh shares, a 2.44-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 9.90 lakh shares. The stock surged 5.56% to Rs 161.40 ahead of its inclusion in the BSE Sensex on Tuesday.
