Mirza International, Panasonic Carbon India Co, Bank of Baroda and Cipla are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 17 August 2015.
HDFC clocked volume of 6.17 lakh shares by 12:48 IST on BSE, a 4.34-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.42 lakh shares. The stock fell 1.12% to Rs 1,285.25.
Mirza International notched up volume of 10.94 lakh shares, a 3.41-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3.21 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.10% to Rs 128.80.
Panasonic Carbon India Co saw volume of 2.12 lakh shares, a 3.25-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 65,000 shares. The stock rose 0.73% to Rs 690.25.
Bank of Baroda clocked volume of 23.57 lakh shares, a 3.21-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 7.34 lakh shares. The stock rose 14.42% to Rs 211.05.

The government after market hours on Friday, 14 August 2015, announced the appointment of MD and CEOs of five public sector banks (PSU banks) and Non-executive Chairman of five PSU banks. Cipla saw volume of 4.76 lakh shares, a 3.19-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.49 lakh shares. The stock fell 3.44% to Rs 715 after consolidated net profit surged 120.9% to Rs 650.61 crore on 41.3% rise in total income to Rs 3901.70 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q1 June 2014. The result was announced after market hours on Friday, 14 August 2015.
