Elgi Equipments, Prestige Estates Projects, NCC and Financial Technologies (India) are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 2 March 2015.
TTK Prestige clocked volume of 2.18 lakh shares by 13:30 IST on BSE, a 148.48-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 1,000 shares. The stock fell 1.16% at Rs 3,033.40.
Elgi Equipments notched up volume of 5.14 lakh shares, a 107.32-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 5,000 shares. The stock rose 1.52% at Rs 150.15.
Prestige Estates Projects saw volume of 16.33 lakh shares, a 50.26-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 32,000 shares. The stock dropped 2.38% at Rs 278.95.
NCC clocked volume of 126.19 lakh shares, a 11.05-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 11.42 lakh shares. The stock jumped 17.59% at Rs 92.90. In the Budget 2015-16, on Saturday, 28 February 2015, finance minister Arun Jaitley announced additional fiscal space will go to funding infrastructure investment with sharp increase in outlays of roads and railways. Capital expenditure of public sector units will also go up. He proposed to introduce a regulatory reform Bill that will bring about a cogency of approach across various sectors of infrastructure. The Finance Minister underlined the pressing need to increase public investment in infrastructure. He said that he proposes increased outlays on both the roads by Rs 14,031 crore. He also proposed to establish National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) with an annual flow of Rs 20000 crore. He said that he also intends to permit tax free infrastructure bonds for the projects in the rail, road and irrigation sector. He said the PPP mode of infrastructure development has to be revisited and revitalized. Jaitley said the Government would also consider similar plug-and-play projects in other infrastructure projects such as roads, ports, rail lines, airports etc. He also stated additional 1 lakh kilometers of roads also needs to be build.
Financial Technologies (India) saw volume of 12.28 lakh shares, a 8.24-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.49 lakh shares. The stock jumped 16.87% at Rs 208.85.
