Volumes jump at Venky's (India) counter

Federal Bank, Indiabulls Infrastructure and Power, State Trading Corporation of India, and Tata Power are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 9 August 2012.

Venky's (India) clocked volume of 3.15 lakh shares by 13:17 IST on BSE, a 83.75-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 4,000 shares. The stock jumped 13.26% to Rs 511.75.

Venky's (India)'s net profit jumped 94.3% to Rs 20.13 crore on 39.58% growth in net sales to Rs 306.63 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011. The company announced the results during trading hours today, 9 August 2012.

 

Federal Bank notched up volume of 1.22 lakh shares, a 6.11-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 20,000 shares. The stock lost 1.1% to Rs 420.

Indiabulls Infrastructure and Power clocked volume of 1.53 crore shares, a 4.11-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 37.29 lakh shares. The stock was locked at 5% upper circuit at Rs 6.17, which is a record high for the counter.

State Trading Corporation of India clocked volume of 6.07 lakh shares, a 3.67-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.66 lakh shares. The stock lost 1.45% to Rs 284.95.

Tata Power notched up volume of 6.68 lakh shares, a 3.45-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.93 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.84% to Rs 99.85.

Tata Power's consolidated net profit fell 66.1% to Rs 145.93 crore on 24% growth in net sales to Rs 7197.57 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011. The result was announced after market hours on Wednesday, 8 August 2012.
