Zuari Agro Chemicals clocked volume of 4.25 lakh shares by 14:16 IST on BSE, a 145.13 times surge over two-week average daily volume of 3,000 shares. The stock rose 2.56% at Rs 160.
Rajapalayam Mills notched up volume of 3.90 lakh shares, a 83.78-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 5,000 shares. The stock surged 9.54% at Rs 372.
Tube Investments of India saw volume of 1.30 lakh shares, a 7.72-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 17,000 shares. The stock spurted 12.22% at Rs 449 after the company said that its board of directors approved the divestment of 4.18 crore equity shares held by the company in its general insurance subsidiary viz., Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company, constituting 14% of the equity share capital of Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company, to its joint venture partner Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, Japan (MSI). The shares will be sold at a price of Rs 211 per equity share, aggregating to a total consideration of Rs 882.67 crore. On completion of the deal, Mitsui Sumitomo's stake in Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company will increase to 40% from 26%. The announcement was made on Friday, 25 December 2015. Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company is a general insurance company in India offering health insurance, car insurance, travel insurance, home & accident insurance policies for individuals and corporates.
Nutraplus India clocked volume of 6.09 lakh shares, a 6.6-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 92,000 shares. The stock jumped 9.48% at Rs 359.10.
Indian Hotels Company saw volume of 6.03 lakh shares, a 5.05-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.19 lakh shares. The stock declined 2.33% at Rs 115.20.
